Lourdes Activities Association

The Lourdes Activities Association (LAA) is a stewardship-based group for the purpose of supporting the mission of Lourdes Central Catholic School.  Specifically focused on the mission needs of the extra-curricular programs in Grades 6-12, any parent or guardian of a student of Lourdes Central Catholic School (Grade 6-12) is considered a member and has voting rights in the context of this school-based organization.  Lourdes Central Catholic extra-curricular activity coaches and sponsors are also considered members.  School administration, specifically the Activities Director, will serve to oversee the execution of this purpose and its related activities and report to the school's Principal.

Meetings:

LAA meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. off campus at a designated location (ex. The Golf Club at Table Creek).

  • Monday, August 6th at The Golf Club at Table Creek (5633 I Road)
    • 7:00 p.m.
    • Guest Speaker:  Jenny Kearney, Ambassador Wellness Center, "Sports Nutrition and Supplements for the High School Athlete"

  • Monday, December 3rd
  • Monday, February 4, 2019
  • Monday, April 1, 2019

Stewardship Events, Volunteering and Funding Opportunities (Tentative as of 7/30/18):

LAA has a number of stewardship events each year.  These events are designed to further the mission of Lourdes Central Catholic and build community.  These events include:

  • Events:
    • TBD - Tailgates
    • (Tentative) Saturday, March 16th, 2019 - Trivia Night
  • Volunteering:
    • Chair or volunteer for an Event Committee
    • Concession Stand
      • Each LAA family will be assigned to serve up to four (4) times in the concession stand. This may be for volleyball or basketball in the concession stand at Lourdes Central Catholic or at Nebraska City Public High School for football games.  If a situation arises that you are unable to work the time that you were scheduled, please find a replacement.  Junior and Senior students can serve as replacement and can earn Service Hours.  Shifts are normally two (2) hours or less.
  • Funding:
    • Activity Pass
      • A LAA Activity Pass entitles the bearer to enter any home sporting event (middle school, junior varsity & varsity), entrance to the One Act Theatre with Sweets event, and one entrance into our annual musical.  LAA Activity Passes do not cover tournaments or post season games*.  LAA Activity Passes are available for individuals, families and seniors (65+).
        • Individual Pass - $70 for 2018-2019
        • Family Pass (college students are included in a family pass) - $140 for 2018-2019
        • Seniors (65+) - $20 for 2018-2019

Stewardship Opportunities

The experience at Lourdes Central Catholic School is enhanced by the stewardship commitment of the families who share their time, talents, and treasure with our school community.  Taking part in the Family Stewardship Opportunities is a great way to be involved in our school community, to get to know other students and parents, and to share God’s gifts in love of God and neighbor.

LAA-Lourdes Activities Association
LAA works to support the extra-curricular activities of students in grades 6-12. All families with students in grades 6-12 are considered "members" and are encouraged to become active in LAA.

LEPTO-Lourdes Elementary Parent Teacher Organization
LEPTO provides a link between the parents of the elementary students and the teachers. LEPTO supports the elementary students and teachers with extra-curricular needs and provides fun activities throughout the school year, including: Trunk or Treat, Soup Supper, Muffins with Moms, Donuts with Dads, and more!

Class Clubs
Class Clubs are an opportunity to provide a fun forum for parents to meet and communicate with other parents of students in their child’s same grade. Class Clubs can gather for family outings, adult socials, prayer, service opportunities, etc. There is a Class Club for each grade PreK-Seniors.

Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee welcomes new families to school, organizes teacher appreciation efforts and activities to celebrate our school community. The group meets twice a year to plan, all are welcome to volunteer!

Campus Ministry & Middle School Youth Group
If you would like to get involved in the spiritual life of Lourdes, please contact our Campus Ministry team as we’re developing prayer opportunities and enhancing service opportunities for our students.

The Lourdes Event
Volunteer to help with Lourdes Central Catholic’s annual fundraiser, “The Lourdes Event”. The Event is a fun evening celebrating our school and includes a social hour, dinner, silent and live auction. Many volunteers are need to make the Lourdes Event a success and we welcome your help!

Shop with Scrip
Scrip are gift cards purchased through the school and used at the specific restaurant or retailer for which they are purchased. There are over 750 retailers -both national and local- to choose from! When you buy a scrip gift card you receive the full amount of the purchase price and the retailer donates a percentage of the purchase price. Nebraska Catholic Conference

The Nebraska Catholic Conference (NCC) is the official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Nebraska. In addition to advocating for pro-life policy, laws that help the poor, and many other issues that affect the Church, the NCC represents Catholic school students and families in governmental matters.
