Physics Trip

On October 8 the high school Physics class at Lourdes took a trip to the Cooper Nuclear Power Station in Brownville. The trip gave the students a look into how nuclear power is generated and the mass engineering feat required to produce power on such a large scale. They toured the plant and observed many of the buildings and machinery that help convert uranium atoms into usable electrical energy.  At the end of the day the students left the plant with an exciting look at many career options in the areas of science and technology, as well as a greater understanding of the scientific processes going on right here in Nebraska.
