Grotto Mass Celebration
The Lourdes student body changed up their normal routine on Friday, September 6th. Instead of making the walk over to St. Mary’s for Mass, the school gathered in the grotto. Students, teachers, parents, and friends of Lourdes spread out around the grotto as Fr. Cyza celebrated the Votive Mass of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The grotto in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes is believed to have been built sometime in the 1930’s, but since then it has gone through numerous renovations. In addition to being used for Masses like the one held on the 6th, it has also been a great spiritual tool for students to use. The grotto offers a place for peace, quiet, and prayer for not only theology classes but also for individuals seeking a place of solitude for prayer.
