Stand for the Silent
Nebraska Governor Dave Heinemann designated April 20th as Nebraska Stand for the Silent Day. His goal was to increase awareness on bullying prevention and inviting every student, school, and community in Nebraska to join in on this event to end bullying.
In honor of this day Lourdes students watched two videos relating to this problem. The first video related the tragic story that initiated the movement. The second video was music video about taking the pledge. Students spent a few moments in silence and prayed a Chaplet of Divine Mercy after Friday Mass for all victims of bullying. Students were encouraged to sign pledge cards after Friday’s Mass.
The event helped students realize they are somebody and that they can make a difference in someone else’s life!
